We are all made of stars
In this plane of existence, of presence, time did not exist. It was twilight and yet dawn at the same time, the backdrop a universe sprinkled with stars against a deep swirling mix of colours ranging from the deepest black to the most glorious hues of purple, blue, all deep and ancient.
Planets with moons so large that they swallowed half their night time skies.
It was against such a planet, in the atmosphere high enough to be suspended without being pulled in, was a crystalline stone of many faces. The stone itself was a deep black, with flecks of an unknown material that flickered and shimmered as it gently and slowly rolled around.
There was a consciousness residing within it, but just like the many sides, the consciousness itself was made of numerous fragments, each corresponding to the number of sides it had. The stone was alive and aware, and despite having no single identity was still as single and solid as the material it represented.
Each plane was unique yet related to a single consciousness, aware of its own unique presence as well as the underlying singleton that held them together. Related planes recognised themselves, as well the planes that held them on the sides, having established an ancient bond on top of their bond with the one single presence that ran through them all.
In that grander scheme of things, no one is truly certain of what happened next.
Maybe a neighbouring planet collision kicked off a series of events that resulted in what happened next, or maybe the fact that the universe wanted to evolve to her next level of existence, but one thing was certain; two adjacent planes were struck, their particles chipped off, separating from each other and from the single consciousness.
The process was painful, distressful; the separated stone elements immediately feeling the absence of each other and the one. But what had happened could not be turned back, leaving the minuscule fragments to float away aimlessly away from each other and the one, in to the blackness of the beautiful space that surrounded them.

It was a hot day. The workspace was humid, and she silently thanked the stars she had opted for a cotton suit for the first day in.
The on boarding was as boring as it was awkward.
People were clearly not expecting a new starter showing up in their cubicle areas with the HR partner who could talk you head off, but they all still smiled politely, some giving her an awkward wave, a smile there, but clearly they were all eager to get back to their daily schedules.
As they approached this area, she found herself experiencing the most intense anticipation, to the point she had to do a quick mental check-in. 'What's happening to me? Maybe its just the heat?'
And then she saw him, sitting in the corner, as awkward as ever, with a huge confused grin on his face.
The feelings of recognition and relief were equal parts comforting and confusing. She didn't even know his name, his face; that was the first time in her life that she was seeing this other person, yet what had spurred on this feeling of recognition?
The human brain is an amazing marvel of mother nature, because in that one fraction of a second, she felt relief, happiness, amazement, surprise, and the strangest feeling of ... finally being found. Logic and rationality soon kicked in, and she composed herself and her thoughts, returning his smile and greeting. The HR partner (finally) finished talking, with the words that were music to her ears, the on-boarding was finished and they could all get back to work, where her IT equipment will be ready for her to sign on and get started.
As she walked back, she couldn't shake the earlier encounter off.

After aeons of separation, the plane fragments had found each other. They were unrecognisable in their current form of complex multi organism creatures, yet they had still recognised each other, and had reverberated on their harmonious frequency, causing their evolved presence much confusion.
But they had found each other at long last.
Oh my! What vibrant, emotive descriptions. Both pieces resonate with me. Please keep writing
